HE Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Ukraine Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti has visited Sumy State University
On August 8th, 2016 HE Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Ukraine Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti has visited Sumy State University.
During the meeting SSU Rector Anatoliy Vasylyev has presented to the honored guest educational, scientific and international activities of the University. According to SSU Rector, the University keeps on expanding international relations. This is one of the conditions, which helps HEI to ensure high-quality training of specialists. International cooperation promotes the exchange of scientific ideas and professional development of lecturers. Sumy State University has experience of cooperation with scientists of India in the field of nanotechnology and other fields.
During the conversation Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti has stated that education is the number one priority in his work. So he always tries to visit educational institutions, get acquainted with their work and meet with students. He is amazed by what he has seen during the presentation of SSU. The number and wide range of specialties offered by SSU for higher education and the fact that training for foreign students is also conducted in English have impressed him. According to statistics, young people make 65 percent of India's population. A lot of young people need to receive higher education and Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti would like them to know more about Sumy State University. The Ambassador of India has recommended the specific measures which need to be taken in order to introduce to Indian youth the activities of SSU more widely.
The Ambassador of India has been very impressed with the number of SSU students who participate in the XXXI Olympic Games, now held in Rio de Janeiro. As SSU Rector has said, there are six students - five of them are competing in athletics and one – in judo. ‘This is a great indicator,’ Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti has been genuinely and pleasantly surprised. ‘Students enrolled at SSU have a great opportunity to prove themselves in sport.’
HE Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Ukraine Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti has expressed a wish to visit Sumy State University during the learning process, attend Holiday of Indian Culture, which has already become a tradition at SSU and is held every year and meet with Ukrainian students to tell them about Indian culture and traditions.
Prospects of cooperation between SSU and universities in India aimed at improvement of the quality and efficiency of providing educational services, the growth of international authority of the University have been discussed during the meeting.
